ZTE sues Huawei for camera patent infringement

Huawei’s Honor X2 and P8 smartphones could infringe on a couple of ZTE camera patents. The two patents that ZTE is looking to protect against plagiarism are called “Slow Shutter and Capture” and “Imaging and Mobile Terminal Tech”. In an open letter sent to Huawei by ZTE’s law representatives, Huawei is asked to stop manufacturing and selling devices that infringe on these two patents.

VirTra Systems, a leading provider of use of force simulators and firearms training simulators to military, law enforcement agencies and other organizations, today announced that it has successfully defended its patents in the simulation marketplace and has settled a suit with FAAC. ARIAD Pharma (ARIA) Issued Brigatinib-Related U.S. Patent

ARIAD Pharma announced the issuance of its first U.S. patent on brigatinib, ARIAD’s investigational ALK inhibitor. The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted U.S. Patent No. 9,012,462 under the title, “Phosphorous Derivatives as Kinase Inhibitors.” The patent provides composition-of-matter protection through at least December 30, 2030 for ARIAD’s investigational ALK inhibitor, brigatinib. Additional patent applications covering brigatinib are pending in the U.S. and in other countries.

Apple wins voice recognition patent case in China

Apple on Tuesday won a case relating to’patent on voice recognition technology in China over a Chinese government agency and a Shanghai technology company. The court decision was made after Beijing’s Intermediate People’s Court ruled last July against Apple, which sued the Patent Review Committee under the State Intellectual Property Office and Shanghai Zhizhen Network Technology Co. Ltd, accusing the latter of infringing the copyright on its voice recognition software, Siri.
