#Roche sues #Intas Pharma over Mircera anemia drug #patent

Swiss biotechnology giant #Roche has sued Ahmadabad-based drug maker #Intas Pharmaceuticals in Delhi High Court, alleging infringement of its patent rights over #Mircera, an injectable brand used to treat patients with anemia in chronic kidney-related ailments. Roche has sought an injunction order against the brand launched by Intas, but no decision has been taken yet, people familiar with the matter in legal circles said.

Volkswagen accused of infringing hybrid patents

A Baltimore company that’s struck licensing deals after litigation with Toyota Motor Co. and Hyundai Motor Co. is now turning its sights on Volkswagen AG. Paice LLC filed a patent-infringement complaint against Volkswagen, Porsche and Audi at the U.S. International Trade Commission Friday, claiming they’re using technology for hybrid engines without paying for it. It’s seeking an order that would block imports of those brands’ hybrid vehicles from the U.S. market.

Yeti Coolers suing retailer over patents

Yeti Coolers Inc. is suing Wal-Mart Stores Inc., claiming drinkware products sold by the retailer are patent and trade dress infringements, among other complaints. The Austin, Texas-based company, which produces and sells heavy-duty outdoor equipment such as coolers and drinkware, filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas last week.

Qualcomm Signs 3G/4G Chinese Patent License Agreement with Yulong

#Qualcomm Incorporated today announced that it has signed a new 3G and 4G #Chinese #patent license agreement with #Yulong Computer Telecommunication Scientific (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (Yulong), an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of #Coolpad Group Limited. Under the terms of the agreement, Qualcomm has granted Yulong a royalty-bearing #patent license to develop, manufacture and sell #3G #WCDMA and #CDMA2000 (including EV-DO) and 4G #LTE (including “3-mode” GSM, TD-SCDMA and LTE-TDD) terminals for use in China. The royalties payable by Yulong are consistent with the terms of the rectification plan submitted by Qualcomm to China’s National Development and Reform Commission.

Dynamic, National Graphics settle patent dispute

The legal conflict over #lenticular technology was between #Dynamic #Drinkware LLC of Oshkosh, Wis., and Waukesha, Wis.-based #National Graphics Inc. On March 31, the two firms announced that Dynamic has purchased National’s #patent portfolio, officially ending the dispute. No purchase price was disclosed in the deal.

Nintendo: Supplemental Computing Devices Patent Cleared

#Nintendo had previously filed for a #patent for game consoles (home consoles and handhelds) to draw their power from other devices not just the console itself. This could be from additional devices and applications such as cloud based devices which are called supplemental computing devices. Well, the patent for this how now been passed by the #USPTO, so we could effectively see this in the forthcoming NX platform.
