ResMed Files Patent Infringement Action Against BMC and 3B CPAP Devices

After receiving a ruling from the #USPTO that patent claims from a #ResMed #patent asserted against #BMC and #3B in a new #ITC case are valid, ResMed today announced that it has filed a new legal action in the United States International Trade Commission (ITC), seeking to stop the infringement of its patented technology by Chinese medical device manufacturer #BMC Medical Co., Ltd. and its U.S. distributor, 3B Products.

Apple Gets Approval on Patent For A Force Sensitive Touch Keyboard For Mac-Books

Global Tel*Link’s Inmate Calling Patent Survives AIA Review

Global Tel*Link (#GTL) today announced that it has prevailed against #Securus Technologies in the Inter Partes Review (#IPR) of GTL patent 7,853,243, which protects GTL’s technology for biometric and voice validation of inmate calls – widely used features of inmate calling systems and a requirement in many U.S. county jails and state prisons. The Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB) confirmed the validity of all of the ‘243 patent’s claims, clearing the way for GTL to move forward with a pending infringement lawsuit against Securus involving the #patent.

OpenTV files patent counterclaims against Yahoo!

#Kudelski ‘s OpenTV subsidiary filed #patent infringement counterclaims against #Yahoo! in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. The counterclaims allege that Yahoo infringes ten US #patents owned by #OpenTV and identify several infringing products and services, including #Yahoo Smart TV, Yahoo Connected TV, Yahoo TV, Yahoo interactive video advertisements, Yahoo fantasy gaming and Yahoo Screen.

Judge sides with Greenshades software over patent lawsuit

A #patent lawsuit filed against Jacksonville tech company #Greenshades Software has been dismissed, following a year of litigation between the payroll tax filing solutions company and North Dakota-based #Aatrix Software. For its part, Greenshades said that the patents Aatrix had were too abstract and not actually patent-eligible. Ultimately, the judge agreed with the Jacksonville company that the patents protected #ineligible subject matter and the case was dismissed.

IP Australia sees 10 percent jump in Australian patent applications

The Australian Intellectual Property Report 2016 by #IP Australia has revealed businesses are increasingly protecting their inventions and brands, with #patent applications growing by 10 percent in 2015.
