#Microsoft to buy #LinkedIn for $26.2 billion

Microsoft announced a $26.2 billion deal on Monday to acquire professional social platform LinkedIn for $196 per share.Shares of LinkedIn surged 48 percent after the announcement, while Microsoft’s stock was down 4 percent. Trading in Microsoft had been halted briefly for news pending before the announcement of the all-cash deal.

Japan’s largest mobile operator NTT Docomo granted a patent license covering standard-essential patents for its wireless communication technologies to Chinese equipment and smartphone maker Huawei. The operator has awarded patent licenses to more than ten companies and plans to grant such licenses to other companies in the future, it said in a statement.
